UFO - Lights Out 1977 Review

Flying in is UFO's 1977 album, Lights Out.

Barring the incomparable Strangers in the Night live album (not eligible for this studio-LPs-only list), Lights Out is regarded as UFO's most significant album, which saw the band reach its creative crescendo.

The band's sixth studio album contains some timeless classics, like the epic ballad "Love to Love", as well as crunching classic rock numbers "Too Hot to Handle," "Getting Ready," "Electric Phase," and of course the title track. Lights Out truly captured and preserved UFO's talents in their absolute prime, and is regarded as the quintet's flagship album.

Despite a few generic moments, Lights Out is what elevated UFO above the '70s hard rock fray. Its stronger moments solidify it as an essential Hard Rock staple, and one of the most loved classic rock albums of the decade.

Best Ever Albums score: 76/100.
